Why Thai?
What Is Thai Massage?
Thai Massage and Bodywork is a traditional healing practice also known as Nuad Bo-ran, meaning "Ancient Massage" in the Thai language. This modality has been practiced in Thailand for over 2,500 years, with knowledge passed down through generations from teacher to student.
How is Thai Massage Performed?
Thai Massage is performed on a comfortable mat with the client fully clothed. It is important for the client to wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for stretching – tight-fitting clothes or belts should be avoided. If necessary, cotton Thai fisherman pants can be provided to complement a loose t-shirt for maximum comfort.
Techniques Used in Thai Massage
Thai Massage involves slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches. It is suitable for people of all ages and flexibility levels. The therapist uses hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to stimulate Thai Meridians (referred to as "Sen") and Thai Acupressure points. Additionally, the client is guided into passive yoga postures to stretch muscles and improve range of motion, leaving them feeling both refreshed and relaxed.

What is Tok Sen in Traditional Thai Massage?
Another traditional aspect of Thai Massage is the use of Tok Sen, a technique that involves using a mallet and chisel carved from wood harvested in Thailand. The practitioner gently taps along the body's energy lines, producing deep vibrations that help to relax sore muscles, stimulate circulation, and alleviate joint pain and stiffness.
